Forget mystery. It’s time to leave very little to the imagination as we welcome, once again, the rise and rise of the see through dress, better known to your search engine as the ‘naked dress trend’.

Not sure what we’re referring too? We’re talking about dresses in all their body-baring glory, and it’s a trend that is definitely NSFW (and favoured by Miley Cyrus). But hey, if you’ve got it, flaunt it.

Remember when Rihanna won that super prestigious Fashion Icon Award at the 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards? How could you forget (duh, we write about it all the time). Her dress? Swarovski crystals (… and only those).

A party dress for sure, but hardly a pioneer.

In 1998, Rose McGowan bared all at MTV Music Awards. (See more not so great awards moments here.

But it started earlier than that with none other than Kate Moss in 1993 at the Elite Model Agency Party. (Oh, hey Naomi)

And some may say it even began here – with Cher.

Make. It. Stop. This isn’t about turning back time. The sheer dress is far from a newcomer, instead it’s the trend that’s become a trademark for many. So, who really makes the naked dress their own?

Of course, there’s J-Lo...

Don’t be fooled by the rocks that she’s got, Jenny from the Block also has a Carrie-sized cupboard full of see through dresses.

And, another obvious front-runner Kim Kardashian...

But, who wears it best?

Well, who does EVERYTHING best? From art direction on pregnancy announcements to shaming a straying husband? The one and only Queen Bey. Here she is, doing her thing at 2015 Met Gala. The theme? The Looking Glass.
