It’s Fashion Week. Yes, Again.
First New York. Now: London. Then Milan and ka-pow, there’s Paris. If you struggle with the ‘what to wear’ question on the daily, send your heart out to all the fashion people who have to keep it on point four weeks in a row. This takes effort, especially with limited luggage allowance.
Last week at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York, seasoned editors put on the bravest of faces - and the very best of their wardrobes - to see the finest of Fall 2017. It was, to put it politely, effing freezing. Traipsing the streets of New York were fashion bloggers and models including the likes of Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Blake Lively who let loose on the Big Apple.
And now it’s time, dear reader, to take your front row seat as we share the very best of streetwear with you.
Caramel tones: Candice Lake
Camel, tobacco, whatever you want to call it, we want in. The trick to getting this look spot-on is texture. Reach out and touch me.
So Frenchy, so chic: Alexa Chung
Move over Jane Birkin. Alexa sharpens up a peasant dress with a tailored blazer. All she needs now is a baguette and she’s good to see the whole season through.
Prints charming: Danielle Campbell
Whoever invented the Wrap Dress is a freaking genius (thanks, BTW, DVF). Make it pop with a print to make those street photographers stop and snap.
The Breakfast Club: Tamu McPherson
It’s like the 80s never died. Bring. It. Back. Pastels and stonewash are a match made in heaven.
Right there in black and white: Blake Lively
Pick two tones and then go to town with the prints. Monochrome crush.
The colour purple: Kim Kardashian
It’s time to commit: select a shade and stick to it. No regrets (even if you did have a flip out and chose aubergine).
The off-duty model: Romee Strijd
Grunge lives on: Kurt Cobain might have been 50 this year but his spirit is still strong. And yeah, there’s that T-shirt that will cost you four weeks rent. Don’t. Do. It. (We’ve got better ones anyway.)
The statement coat: Bella Hadid
Spar spangled pride. Glad someone other than those in the mid West have it. What you really want from this look, though, is the leather pants. Hawt.
Super ornate earrings: Manrepeller’s Leandra Medine
Pick the biggest, most expensive looking earrings to match your homeless chic ensemble.
