Cannes looks to Covet
Our red-carpet edit.
Thigh-high splits, diamonds and princess frocks.
Ah Cannes. The time of the year when everyone who’s anyone flocks to the French Riviera for a week of films, frocks and fun. It’s one of the biggest fashion events of the season.
From red carpets, to parties and photocalls there’s plenty of opportunities for celebs to get glammed up. Check out some of our fave looks so far.
Day 1 was a show-stopper for gowns on the Opening Gala red carpet. Elle Fanning blew our minds in Vivienne Westwood Couture… princess at the front and hand-painted fairytale at the back.
Bella Hadid went down in Cannes fashion history last year when she wore a barely there red Alexandre Vauthier dress that almost broke the internet. This year? Same designer. Same buzz. With a noted a dazzling sapphire Bulgari necklace adition and her dad Mohamed as her date. (Ice cream optional!)
Naomie Harris was a sherbet dream in pastel Gucci and an eye-catching Swarovski necklace. #sparkly
Cannes is more than the red-carpet though. Badgal RiRi hosted a cocktail and dinner party to celebrate her collaboration with Chopard #Rihannaloveschopard. She was totally shining bright like a diamond decked out in her Chopard jewels and a Ralph & Russo gown.
And cause she’s Rihanna, all the famous peeps wanted in. Model Winnie Harlow wore a black Roberto Cavalli frock with cut-outs and a thigh-high split to the big event.
RiRi also co-hosted the Chopard Space Party on Friday night. Kendall Jenner was a glittering sensation in a jewel-encrusted Ralph & Russo gown, posing for photos with bestie Bella in Roberto Cavalli Couture (with a massive dose of side-leg!).
Our home girl, Nicole Kidman proved she is still the Queen of Cannes with her designer dressing. From oozing Carrie Bradshaw vibes in a Calvin Klein silk bustier and tulle skirt combo, to Dior Couture for a photocall for The Killing of A Sacred Deer she had the red carpet covered.
Remind ya of a certain cinematic cartoonish princess... Frozen anyone?
We’ve been getting serious Disney nostalgia all week with a whole bunch of celebs choosing princess-style frocks. Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was seriously channelling Cinderella in her Michael Cinco getup.
And in a lilac Givenchy gown, actress Jessica Chastain looked just like Hercules heroine Meg.
Celebrating 70 years of the classic that is Cannes, Victoria’s Secret model Irina Shayk gave us old Hollywood glamour in a figure-hugging neon yellow dress by Atelier Versace #bodygoals.
Meanwhile, model Naomi Campbell looked as fierce as ever in an embroidered black gown with a feathered hem by the same designer.
The festival doesn’t wrap til Sunday, so much. More. Cannes. To. Come!
