Revamp your wardrobe this spring
Floordrobe to Wardrobe Goals!
Tips for how to make the most out of your wardrobe space.
The sun is shining and spring is (finally) here. Ya know what that means? Time to rearrange your wardrobe and give that space a revamp. Say ciao to that winter clutter and get your spring clean on. Check out our top tips for how to turn your floordrobe into your dream wardrobe.
LESS IS MORE. Still holding on to that bandage dress from 2010? Get it gone! The first step to a clutter-free wardrobe is to get rid of everything you don’t wear anymore. The key? Be brutal! If you haven’t worn it a year or so, then find it a new home... not in your wardrobe. Once you’ve done the cull, you’ll be able to see what you’re missing. Think capsule wardrobe, with classic, versatile, investment pieces you can style with the essentials.
PLACEMENT IS EVERYTHING. Now that winter’s on the out, move all your coats and puffer jackets to the back of the wardrobe. Rotation, rotation, rotation. If you’ve got bulky pieces, grab yourself some vacuum-seal bags to save space. Bring your spring dresses and tees forward and pack away those thick winter pjs. This means when you open your wardrobe, all your wearable options will be right there.
CLOTHES RACK. This is a wardrobe hack (a rack hack in fact!). Not blessed with a built-in wardrobe, or just low on hanging space? Invest in a clothes rack and use it to display your statement pieces. Arrange your clothes by colour, think pastels, and it's a way to brighten your room.
FOLD THE FOLDABLE. On that point, make sure you’re not doing unnecessary hanging. Fold your tees, shorts, activewear and jeans and leave the hanging space for dresses, skirts, jackets and pesky items that crease.
STORAGE OPTIONS. Got an overflowing drawer of socks? An excess of exercise wear? Invest in some storage boxes and free up valuable wardrobe space. Clear storage options allow you to to find what you need straight away, so you can grab your fave socks and go!
PUT PRETTY THINGS ON DISPLAY. Owner of some beautiful jewellery? Colourful scarves? Don’t hide them away in your wardrobe. Use trays, dishes and hangers to show them off and add colour to your room.
