Name a more iconic duo than breakfast and a good cup of tea. It can’t be done. There’s nothing quite like sipping on a good cuppa to start your day. But just like matching your wines to your meals, there’s an art to pairing the perfect tea with your brekkie.
Check out our top pairings and give yourself a reason to get out of bed in the morning!
1. AVO ON TOAST
Ah the infamous breakfast that’s stopping us all from buying houses. If you haven’t given up smashed avo yet (we don’t blame you), pair it with a steaming cup of Earl Grey. It’s gentle and floral, and will complement the creaminess of the avo.
2. SCRAMBLED EGGS AND BACON
You can’t go past fluffy scrambled eggs with crispy rashers of bacon for brekky. This hangover-curing feast is best eaten with a cup of Russian Caravan. A hearty tea for a hearty breakfast.
3. CHIA PUDDING
Who knew you could create such a tasty, filling breakfast from some little black seeds? Matcha, a more vegetal green tea, goes well with softer, sweeter flavours. Top your pudding with berries and cacao nibs, grab a matcha latte and prepare for a drool-worthy Insta shot.
4. RAISIN TOAST
The classic English Breakfast tea works best with raisin toast. The bold notes of the tea bring out the spiciness from the dried fruit. We’re sold!
5. SALMON AND CREAM CHEESE BAGEL
A million thanks to whoever invented the deliciousness that is bagels. Enjoy this brekky bite with a steaming cup of Oolong. It’s creamy and smoky at the same time, so works perfectly with the smoked salmon and cream cheese.
6. CHEESE AND TOMATO TOASTIE
The best breakfast on-the-go (or anywhere for that matter), is great with a cup of Darjeeling. Tomatoes and Darjeeling share the same molecules and the tannin helps bring out that oh-so-cheesy goodness.
