Say YES to yolk… for breakfast… for lunch… for always!

We bet you’re like, “What are YOKE talking about (last egg pun. Promise)?” We’re talking eggs. The versatile, protein-filled ovals are a staple in every kitchen across the country. You can’t make cake without them, so they must be good.

Plus, each little gem will pump around six grams of protein into your bod, along with vitamins of the A, B6, C, and D varieties.

From breakfast trends to healthy snacks and easy-cooking options, we’ve got your eggy superfood inspo all wrapped up. Whether you like em poached or scrambled, fried or frittata’d, you’ll love these seven new ways to add eggs to your diet.

Disclaimer: If you’re sitting home on a solo Saturday night, eating microwaved eggs it’s time to reassess. Stat.

1. Cloud eggs

Unless you live under a rock, you’ve heard about, and eaten a couple of, Cloud Eggs. Food bloggers have been frothing and Insta feeds have been going off.

Like Moses parting the sea, the heavenly Cloud Egg uses egg whites separated from their yolks. The whites are whipped like a horse on Melbourne Cup until you get uncooked meringue. The rest is all in the baking and we suggest resting the clouds atop smashed avo toast for the ultimate hipster delight.

2. Egg yolk mooncake

This one sounds fantastical. We wanna eat them down the Rabbit Hole with the Mad Hatter and Tin Man. In fact, we shall henceforth be called Mooncake Vixen!

Buy them in Asian supermarkets or make them at home here

3. Baked avocado egg

Move over smashed avo… your days are numbered. The baked avo egg is creamy, eggy, super-easy to make and goes well with toast in the morning, or accompanying a pasta dish at dinnertime.

4. Baked egg and spaghetti nests

A great “OMG what’s for dinner” dinner (Please tell us you have at least pasta and eggs in the kitchen?). To make, put cooked pasta into an oven safe bowl (a little one) crack an egg on top and bake until nest-like. Use your Jenga fingers to remove the nest. Carbs, protein… it's a boss meal, and it looks super cute. #amiright

5. Egg muffins

You had us at “muffins”! Find out how to make these all-day healthy treats (extra yummy when paired with fresh fruit) here

6. Cheesy baked egg toast

OMG yes. Yes… Yes… just yes. Giving French toast a run for its money, we know you want in. How to do it right? Crack an egg on a piece of toast, cover with cheese and bake until you can’t hold out any longer. Serve with fries if you’re feeling naughty, or salad if you’re not.

7. Banana egg pancakes

Meet the new gluten-free and Paleo-friendly brekkie go-to. Throw some fresh berries on top and drizzle with agave nectar. Make em here. Bon appetit.
