Cancel your gym membership – apparently the way to get rock-hard abs is to breathe in that country air.
In North Carolina, Jennifer King – better known on YouTube as Farm Girl Jen – is toning up by flipping tyres and swinging sledge hammers.
The YouTube sensation has over 155, 000 subscribers tuning in to tone up to her Banshee Moon channels.
She’s 50 years old but you wouldn’t know it by looking at her abs.
She told The Daily Mail recently:
Fifty has been great so far. Got my mid-life crisis six speed manual transmission muscle car that I always wanted
Not digging the wrinkles but being older and wiser and having some success sits pretty well with me.
I am stronger and leaner than ever and I am sure that it is mostly due to a heavy weight lifting program.
The secret to those abs?
One: Interval training
When she can’t make the gym, she does high-intensity interval training (HIIT) with the help of kettlebells and bodyweight movements.
Two: Train daily
She has a routine on the daily. “I do a lot of tempo work with weights and some outside work like sled push and pull, sledgehammer swings and tire flipping with pull ups, push-ups and sit-ups as daily activities”.
Three: Eat right
Farm Girl likes “ a variety of fish meats and vegetables” and avoids “processed foods, especially those containing refined sugars”. Talk about lean bean.
