Adele’s amazing proposal
Who’s getting married? Unique
proposals you’ll love!
Adele plays cupid at her last Aussie show.
Special moment or what? Is there anything Adele can’t do? After belting out a few ballads, she stopped her Melbourne concert to help a couple of lovebirds propose. So we decided to take a look at other weird and wonderful, surprising engagements… asking for someone’s hand just got real!
“That’s when good neighbours…”
Australia loves Adele, and it seems Adele loves us right back. The Neighbours nerd visited Ramsay Street on a day off in the Vic capital. It got us thinking about another not-so-great neighbour.
Crashing for love
Some genius in the Netherlands obviously had too many special brownies when he decided to propose to his girlfriend by lowering himself into her yard using a crane. The plan went sideways – literally – when the crane crashed through the neighbour’s roof not once but twice. Amazingly, she said yes.
Isaac Lamb has a lot to answer for. Or, more accurately, Isaac Lamb and sixty of his closest friends and family! He practically launched the viral proposal phenomenon and made scores of dudes look like duds, thanks to his 2012 flash mob proposal. Lamb’s girlfriend watched from the back of an SUV as the crowd lip-syncing ‘Will You Marry Me’ by Bruno Mars before her future hubby parted the crowd and popped the question. So good!
The Frankston Fiancé
The morning commute got a whole lot more exciting when Ryan Jacka chose a Melbourne Metro train to pop the question to his significant other. Ryan and his now fiancé, Hannah, met on a train ten years ago, and we can’t wait for their upcoming train-track wedding.
Are you flipping kidding?
Remember those little flipbooks you made as a kid? Now visualise one with a diamond at the end, and you’ve got the idea of our next surprising proposal. Authored by Rodney Nelson, he presented the adorable gift to his partner, Lex, during a lights festival at Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo.
From ice buckets to planking and every Internet craze in between, none have captured our hearts like the Mannequin Challenge proposal between Jamie Ferrini and Sue Merino. Jamie orchestrated the scene during a Thanksgiving feast in the US, with family and friends. Check out the video – it’s pretty cute...
The 365-day proposal
Why do it once when you can do it 365 times? That’s what serial romantic Dean Smith thought when he spent a year secretly proposing to his girlfriend using a whiteboard and a camera. Dean presented his lady love with a video of his sneaky proposals before getting down on bended knee and finally asking her in person. A year later.
