Gigi and Zayn get tattoos
For him and her: 7 tiny tatt ideas
“Wear your heart on your skin in this life,” wrote author, poet and icon Sylvia Plath. There’s something deeply personal in the permanence of a tattoo. It’s a declaration, a dedication to the there-and-now of that moment. It’s a delicate reminder of what you were feeling and who you were feeling those feelings for. After all, who can forget Johnny Depp’s ‘Winona Forever’?
Zayn Malik – one-time One Direction bad boy and beau to Gigi Hadid – has come out with some new ink, and it’s made headlines on sites internationally. ‘Love’ is inked in cursive across his left knuckles. It’s far from his first tattoo (The Daily Mail estimates it’s more like number 15), and it’s hardly as specific as Depp’s, but there it is, loud and clear.
Yes, we know celebrity tattoos are not new ground – Bella Hadid had celebrity tattoo artist Jon Boy Tattoo ink a tiny angel wing on each heel, perhaps in homage to her recent stint on the runway for Victoria’s Secret, and Zoë Kravitz has tiny filigree leaves inked by Hollywood legend Dr Woo – but if these are anything to go by, right now, it seems to be a case of the smaller, the better. Also perfect for a testing of the waters.
Looking for tiny tattoo ideas? Here’s our top seven:
Adele. Couture cursive.
Bella Thorne. Faster pussycat.
Hailey Baldwin. So very delicate.
Cara Delevingne. Finger paint.
Selena Gomez. Making a statement.
Hilary Duff. Roses only.
Lana Del Rey. Obviously an X Files fan (hers reads: ‘Trust no one’.)
And why not rope in your someone special / bae? Double or nothing, it’s time to match and match. Kylie Jenner and Hailey Baldwin both have a little something on their hips, while Baldwin and Kendall Jenner both have matching broken heart tattoos on the inside of finger. But that’s not all: the new breed of supers, Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn have matching tiny ‘DD’ tatts on their hips thanks to NYC’s Bang Bang. And as for Kate Moss … well, her and a million other girls around the world have the same (an anchor on her wrist, a star on her ankle). Imitation, it’s said to be the highest form of flattery.
Whatever you do, don’t show Mum.
