Leading man: George Clooney challenges Trump
Be our Valentine, and our president in 2020.
11 reasons why Clooney’s got our vote.

Rumour has it that that Hollywood heart throb and dad-to-be George Clooney is preparing to take on US President Donald Trump come 2020. While the silver fox is as yet to officially throw his hat in the ring, Democratic backers with deep pockets have allegedly already shown their support, pledging to put their money where their mouths are.
Apparently, even Barack is in on it (we’re just waiting for the memes to confirm this).
It wouldn’t be the first time Hollywood has hit the the political trail. Ronald Regan (for anyone who paid attention in history) was a star of the silver screen and made The White House, while Arnie looked after California from the Governor’s office. Trump, too: he cameo’d in the cinematic masterpiece that was Home Alone 2 (and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Sex and The City, Two Week’s Notice, our favourite show ever The Nanny)
So, what will the Dad-to-be bring to the Oval Office? Well, for one twins – also known as free labour. Secondly: a first lady in Amal Clooney. She does something pretty important.
And, three: he knows how to work that camera.
So, why else? We look over Clooney’s political credentials.
Health reforms, here we come.
Clooney takes health care seriously. This is the man who can fix what ails America. (Sorry, but AT LEAST ONE DAD JOKE is allowed per article.) Tune into the first 30 seconds of this to be assured:
He knows how to make coffee (thanks Nespresso) and get celebrities to drink his Kool Aid.
Invaluable for those late nights and the Popular Vote (hey Clinton?). Congress, form an orderly line towards Clooney’s Kool Aid.
He can pull together a great team / cabinet.
If his wedding wasn’t a good enough example for you (Bill Murray AND Anna Wintour?!? The safest of hands to look after the Free World surely?)
Check out his squad in Oceans 11:
He would look good - no, GREAT - on a campaign poster.
Even when that poster is next to Ryan Gosling.
He gives good interviews.
To CNN and otherwise.
He’s “used to winning”.
And everyone likes a winner hey Donald?
He can wear a suit. Seriously, look at him.
He’s done some “terrible things” to Brad Pitt.
If he doesn’t hesitate to wreak havoc on the world’s second best looking man, Putin, etc, should pose no problem.
He can do the whole revenge thing
Essential for any leader of a nation.
Just oozes authority.
Oh yeah, and he has NEVER made a cameo on House of Cards.
The characters on that show have some serious issues.
