The name Grass-Bred came to be out of two foundations of the brand:
We decided that we wanted to create the best possible product without using the standard retail approach of starting with the retail price and working back to the price we can pay for the garment (This approach typically means a retailer can pay $20 for a $100 garment at retail).
The problem with this model is that invariably quality is sacrificed in order to hit a price point. When we costed out our high quality product, we realized that in order to provide our customers with the best possible value we would need to work on a direct basis and focus on Grass-Roots marketing.
We are a small group who have all spent years working in different areas of the fashion industry and watching trends come and go, we decided to create a fashion brand designed by the people for the people.
All of our products were Bred socially by non-designers sharing ideas and concepts.
Decisions are then made through a voting process across our target customer base. Going forward we are taking Bred to the next level, by letting you, our customer, design and market your own Hoodies (stay tuned).
