Meet the new Queen of the Desert
Disco dancing all the way to Uluru.
When one scoop just won’t do!
Alice Cooper, Alice in Wonderland, Alice McCall… We’ve never met an Alice we don’t love. But we reserve our biggest crush for Alice Springs, famed for its vast plains, imposing natural wonders, and eclectic locals...
Enter: Mixed Lollies, Seller of Cool Shit. Aka, the oasis in the desert.
Grab your feather boas and jump on board the party bus (Venga Boys-style) as we hit the Red Centre Way with the Mixed Lollies team, to find out why The Alice is so rad...
Owner-operator-fashion-extraordinaire Anastasia opened the store after returning to her hometown of Alice Springs 12 years ago. But the fashion bug began long before Anastasia reimagined outback glam and opened her sweet boutique smack bang in the middle of Oz...
“I grew up surrounded by beautiful disco-dancing aunts and funky uncles. My mum was exotic and glam – a real ’60s beatnik babe,” she recalls proudly. “The boutique is a natural extension of myself. People love my shop because it has a great nostalgic vibe without a hint of pretention.”
A place where you can be bold and experiment with style. A place where we imagine Madonna and Blondie shopping and rainbow stylin’, alongside Wonder Woman and Lauren Hutton as they discuss politics (and activewear). Where Nicole Richie finds her dream Coachella outfit, and where Frida Kahlo goes to unwind.
Sounds like our kind of place.
There’s a little something for ‘60s beatnik babes, ‘70s disco dames, ‘80s roller girls, and a whole lot for the modern gal looking for razzle-dazzle or blue jeans.
The Mixed Lollies squad criss-cross Australia each year to source the most fab pieces from brands like Bec & Bridge, Cameo, Bless’ed Are The Meek, Mavi Denim, Alice McCall, Shona Joy, Stevie May, Auguste the Label, and more.
Meet Mixed Lollies...
Our style is... “70’s bohemian disco babe meets 80’s roller girl.”
The Mixed Lollies girl is… “Fresh and stylish. She loves denim, experiments with wacky prints and fluffy coats, squeezes into slinky dresses and rocks big earrings better than JLo.”
Your favourite things about Alice Springs… “Family, pink sunsets, and the tightknit community. Oh yeah, and no traffic!”
Eat... your heart out! With Italian feasts at Casa Nostra – our family restaurant.
Drink... at the one and only Epilogue Lounge rooftop bar.
See... “The Field of Lights in Uluru – a great excuse for a weekend away.”
Do... “Climb to the top of Mt. Gillen.”
Shop... “Mixed Lollies for the freshest Australian designers and coolest finds in the NT.”
