The front cover enchants with a golden kaleidoscope, proving that like this time last year, sequins are high on the fashion agenda for March 2011 (*see front cover Cosmo March 2010). There was a crucial lesson to be learned from this page and that was showing how to mix low cut necklines with upward creeping hemlines and still maintain stylish sophistication. Thank you.

To begin with I found myself internally agreeing with every point made by Megan Moir Pardy's article 'On the Plus Side' (p.48)-capes truly are the perfect luxury to wear on a 'fat day'. Nonetheless, we clearly all make the occasional fashion faux pas on a less than average day and that is where the style guide fits in. The "22 page guide to the hottest new shoes and bags" read like an autumn winter look book for 2011, translating the coming seasons trends into an accessible and easy to follow composition. They have it all: minimalism, military, ladylike and an ode to the return of velvet.

Overall what I find refreshing about 'Shop Til You Drop' is the confidence I have in turning to a page and knowing that I could potentially afford what is on offer. It's comforting to know that the market is offering a fashion magazine which successfully ties together elements of the stylish with the attainable. I was particularly impressed with the glammed up $14.99 Ally shirt featured on pg. 122.

The March edition really has gone all out to provide a fashion solution to a wealth of trends, styles, figures and budgets and was nonetheless a pleasurable and aesthetically appealing experience.
