She slides out of the car and strides towards her castle on the hill. But this is no fairytale address, even though the night ahead will be filled with beautiful people, high on the excesses of life. A hedonist’s hideaway. She trades in art but is her own greatest creation. She buys her own jewels and wears them with abandon.

Lisa Ho AW10 collection is unadulterated luxury – for the girls confident enough to take it. The palette of black – dense and layered – is contrasted with dusty violet and midnight blues. Perfect for after-dark excess. The animal in her comes out to play in modern leopard prints; the silhouette is sleek, dresses clinging to her body. Elsewhere prints include optic marbling and the blown-out lights of Budapest at night. Tailored jackets are a style staple, whether simply curved to fit the body, nipping in at the waist or deeply embellished for dramatic entrances.

Fabrics are luxurious, pieces are layered. Slim silk jersey dresses are topped with fur gilets and cropped leather boleros; strapless chiffon gowns are overloaded with jeweled cuffs and necklaces, never worn alone. Embellishment appears throughout, from the Swarovski crystal shoulders of a velvet dress to studded leather jackets; flighty feathered skirts are weighted down with chain fringing. This is luxury as a given, unapologetic and unaffected.

“This is a return to where I first started” says Lisa. “There’s a lot of beading and tailoring. And this season I’ve got a strong focus on jackets. I feel tailoring is really having a renaissance. This is not disposable fashion. I have an interest in vintage clothing and I hope that what I create will stand the test of time”.
